Sugar Bosses Join For A Sweet Deal

EXECUTIVES of Maryborough Sugar Factory and Tully Sugar have met to discuss merger plans, with a joint working party agreeing to invite three Tully representatives to the combined board if the deal goes ahead.

SIR Ron Brierley's Guinness Peat Group has increased its stake in the nation's only pure listed sugar company, Maryborough Sugar Factory. GPG boosted its holding to 23.41% from 19.73%.
